Arrival in Haridwar / Rishikesh β Gateway to the Yatra
Morning:
Arrive at Haridwar / Rishikesh, the holy starting point of the Char Dham Yatra.
Check in to your hotel and refresh.
Visit Har Ki Pauri Ghat in Haridwar for a dip in the sacred Ganga or Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh.
Afternoon:
Explore Mansa Devi or Chandi Devi Temple in Haridwar, or Ram Jhula & Laxman Jhula in Rishikesh.
Relish Garhwali thali for lunch.
Evening:
Witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti with devotional chants and hundreds of lit diyas floating on the river.
Overnight stay at Haridwar / Rishikesh.
Haridwar/Rishikesh to Guptkashi β Himalayan Journey
Morning:
Early departure for Guptkashi, a picturesque town located en route to Kedarnath.
Drive through winding mountain roads alongside the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers.
En route, stop at Devprayag (confluence of Alaknanda & Bhagirathi), Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag β all sacred sangams of the Char Dham route.
Afternoon:
Lunch at Rudraprayag with views of the confluence.
Resume journey, passing Himalayan villages and lush green valleys.
Evening:
Arrive at Guptkashi and check into your hotel/camp.
Visit the Ardh Narishwar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Dinner and overnight stay at Guptkashi.
Kedarnath Darshan β Trek to the Divine Shrine
Morning:
Early drive to Gaurikund, the base for Kedarnath trek.
Take a holy dip at Gaurikund hot springs, associated with Goddess Parvatiβs penance for Lord Shiva.
Begin the 16 km trek to Kedarnath Temple (pony, palki, or helicopter options available).
Trek through pine forests, waterfalls, and mountain ridges with panoramic Himalayan views.
Afternoon:
On reaching Kedarnath, check into a guesthouse/dharamshala.
Visit the sacred Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Seek blessings of Lord Shiva in this ancient stone temple surrounded by snow peaks.
Explore nearby sites like Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi, located just behind the temple.
Evening:
Attend the soulful evening aarti at Kedarnath Temple. The chants, temple bells, and the sight of the illuminated shrine amidst the Himalayas create a divine experience.
Overnight stay at Kedarnath.
Return Journey β Kedarnath to Guptkashi / Rishikesh
Morning:
After early darshan at the temple, begin the trek back to Gaurikund.
Drive to Guptkashi and enjoy breakfast/lunch en route.
Afternoon:
Continue journey back towards Rishikesh / Haridwar, enjoying scenic views of valleys and riverbanks.
Stop for tea breaks and local snacks in mountain dhabas.
Evening:
Arrive in Rishikesh/Haridwar by late evening. Transfer to hotel/railway station/airport for onward journey with divine blessings of Lord Shiva.
